Over 15 years ago, it started in the chat rooms of AOL, Yahoo and other websites where others could interact. Then you had forums, Myspace and Facebook was born and now you have Twitter, Tumblr and other sites that you can interact with other people. My experience has came a long way since those days of being in chat acting a fool. Meet some decent people, some not so decent people via social networking. In my opinion, it’s all about what you do when you make those connections. I wish I had made some more connections but you can’t force people to act a certain way. They gravitate to those that they have a better connection with. I’m guilty of it as well but I’ll give anyone a chance in the beginning.

Now that I’m older, I still enjoy the use of social networking but now as compared to 10 years ago, there are some lessons that I’ve learned. But I’ll save that for another post at a later date.

I wasn’t really going to watch last night’s bout between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto. The whole dog and pony show with Mayweather as the face of the sport is just getting really boring to me. I would rather see a rejuvenation of the Heavyweight division. Seems as if those days are just a distant memory.

The main event last night was decent to say the least. If Cotto would have kept Mayweather in the corner and followed up on punches, it would have been a different decision. After the fight, Mayweather and Larry Merchant kissed and made up after the incident occurring after the Mayweather/Ortiz fight. Since he’s headed to prison for 90 days stemming from an assault charge on his child’s mother, Mayweather was acting very humble saying ‘give what the fans want’ in regards to a bout with Manny Pacquiao. That light is fading quickly.

And Mosley taking a fight for 600k? I’m sure that you can become an analyst or something. From what the folks were saying on Twitter, Canelo Alvarez was digging in that grill.

Again, the Heavyweight division needs fresh faces to make it relevant again and for fans to even start caring as well.

But that’s just how I see things. You ‘experts’ can have at it.

The sun rises and the man lying beside me is not my spouse
He rubs my hair as my breasts rise and falls against his naked body
I sent him a late night text asking him to come for a night cap
I promised vows to my husband but I’m curled up with the enemy
Adversary that gives me goosebumps whenever we touch
How he holds me in his arms or palms my ass so explicitly
Heat within me rises as I grab the tool that causes me to leak
If this was court, the judge wouldn’t hear the case – I’m guilty
Outside desires will be my downfall as the security has been breached
I guess this will be death do us part as I’ve failed in maintaining loyalty

I rise out of the sinned filled bed, wrap myself in my robe
Staring in the mirror at the woman that I’ve become – part ashamed
As I gazed into my thoughts, I felt the sensual kisses creeping up my back
My mind was saying stop, don’t do this but my body wishes left me betrayed
His lips moved to my neck and his hands easily harden my nipples
No turning back as he penetrated the reserved walls that went unclaimed
Felt as if I was on a wild ride my hands gripping the sink as he continued invasion
My essence was once again a traitor – allowing him to embezzle what was once tamed
Hair been pulled, ass being struck in a commanding way, juices submerging in elation
My drenched panties was positioned into my mouth to gag the joyous squeals that were proclaimed

These illicit actions made me lost track of the minutes that turned into hours which seems like days
I allowed the sinful language of lust slither into my ears and infect the decisions of my common sense
That smile, the shock waves I received when I got the initial touch, the way my skin rolled off his lips
Tried to fight the feeling but that sensation was simply too strong for my defense
Essential as the time in the clutch and I feel as if I’m slipping into the dark side
Even when the correct man is lying beside me, I don’t get the sentiment of my heart being tense
Just alone at night sending empty emotions to a man that just momentarily satisfies my needs
He plunges inside giving me gratifications that should be at my husband’s expense
He pulls out and leaves, I’m back to feeling empty and harsh with my contemplations
Existing with remains of regrets due to bad decision making and following it up with nonsense

Judge me if you want for seeing this movie but it’s whatever. Now by going to see this movie, I’m in no way advocating that Steve Harvey was correct in what he ‘wrote’ in his self help book for the ladies. (Let’s keep it 100, we know the scoop behind the scoop).

Think Like A Man centers around Cedric (Kevin Hart) and his friends Dominic (Michael Ealy), Jeremy (Jerry Ferrara), Michael (Terrence J), Zeke (Romany Malco) and Bennett (Gary Owen). Now with the exception of Bennett, each of the guys are going through some sort crisis with love and life:

Cedric (who is the narrator of the film): Is going through a divorce from his wife and is focusing on being free. Also provides the comedy aspect among the group.

Dominic: Seems to have a lot of dreams (he decides on being a chef) and his ex dumps him due to his inability to stay focused on a plan.

Michael: The ‘Mama’s Boy’ of the group. His world is dominated by his relationship that he has with his mother which hampers his love life.

Jeremy: has been dating his girlfriend for 9 years and is comfortable with the life he has, which is a problem for her because she feels that he can do much more with his talents.

Zeke: The ‘player’ of the group. He drops his lines on the ladies, get the ass and is out the door. He meets Mya at a bar and after dealing with her rude tone at first, they start dating.

Bennett: He is characterized as having a great marriage in the movie. The choices and advice that he gives reflects that.

Now as far as the ladies in the film:

Gail: She’s Cedric’s soon to be ex-wife and is revealed towards the end of the film but is characterized as being the one who had control in the marriage. They are often heard having many arguments with each other.

Lauren (Taraji P. Henson): COO of a media company who is looking for a man that can meet her status (job, education, car, etc). She starts dating Dominic after he followed her from dinner trying to stunt like big money. She was reluctant to read the book but at the urging of her friend Candace, she decides to read it.

Candace (Regina Hall): Single mom and best friends with Lauren, who meets Michael in Barnes & Noble as she’s trying to hide the fact that she brought Steve Harvey’s book. They start dating shortly after that.

Kristen (Gabrielle Union): Jeremy’s girlfriend of nine years, who tolerates his love for science fiction but is ready for the adult phase of their relationship like a career for him, marriage, redecoration of their apartment. In the book, she discovers that she hasn’t given Jeremy a reason to go after those goals.

Mya (Meagan Good): Meets Zeke at a bar where she’s having a drink with her friend and had a nasty encounter with a drunken patron. She got played by Alex (Chris Brown) and after purchasing the book, decides to put Zeke on the ’90-day test’ before giving up the goods.

As the movie itself, it follows the criteria as romance comedies do. The ladies start winning until an outing with the fellas where the guys start to pick that on certain questions that the ladies ask them. Throughout the movie, I started seeing some of the mistakes that I made in past relationships. But I don’t need to hear that from Steve Harvey, most of it is just common sense.

Another thing I noticed was that there were a few jabs taking at Tyler Perry. Especially when Michael suggests that they watch For Colored Girls on Blu Ray and the description of the movie provided by Dominic made me laugh. (Just watch the scene and you’ll understand.) In regards of the cast, yes it is catered to draw audiences in. The oohs and ahhs from the ladies when Michael Ealy and Chris Brown got screen time proved that.

I know that a lot of males won’t see this movie primarily because of the backlash they gave when the book was released but if you’re willing to go see it, just keep an open mind about the plot and the causes and effects of the decisions made in the movie. You’ll be fine, it won’t damage your soul if you do watch.

It’s the graveyard shift and that vibration stirs me from endless thoughts
Request on the other side asking am I available for a nightly trip to rapture
And even before I could get a chance to respond to the request
Photos hit my inbox detailing the hidden pleasures and my attention she did capture
Back story states that she’s a friend of a friend who in turn became too friendly
Ring on her finger symbolizes that she’s committed to being another man’s future
I’m guilty of my part in this world of sin but I am a glutton for her punishment
She does things that would leave an outspoken man speechless nothing short of spectacular

Thirty minutes later, I reach the destination to locate the key to her quarters
A part of me feels bad that I’m resorting to being a sideshow instead of the main attraction
In these terms, we all play a supporting role in other people’s lives
Being a pawn in her world takes away from my reality and adds to my distraction
So when I enter through those doors and see her awaiting me with curves and sex appeal
Me climbing her walls and hearing the moans as the soundtrack adds to the satisfaction
Just handle business and make sure her door slams lock when I disappear
No time for small talk as I’m undressing her slowly organizing for our prohibited interaction

The woman is sipping her wine and doing a slow wind to a slow jam
Teases my by licking her full lips and running her hands across her breasts
I watch as she walks toward me with the gaze of lust within her eyes
Taunting me as she rubs her backside against me as to remind that she’s blessed
Grabs me by the hand and leads me over to the love seat so that she can entertain
Tried to get a sneak preview of what forthcoming as I slid my hand up her dress
Pushed my hand down and said not too fast as she wanted this to be sexy
So I exhaled and reclined as I obliged to her request

Returning in all black and see through with her face covered to remain mysterious
The beat starts slow as she climbs upon my lap to begin her means of seduction
Kisses my on my lips sends shockwaves as the South starts to rise
She takes notice of the oppression and continues to rib my desires for her affection
Sliding her hard nipples across my lips and leaning back when I try to react
Master of this game and this is going to be the cause of my drive heading to destruction
Slides off my lap and on to the couch with her legs open displaying the wetness
Moves her lips say ‘taste this’ as she starts to play with it slowly arousing my temptation

Envelops her legs around my neck as my tongue slides up and down her clit
Her nails tunnels into my back as the obsession from my mouth invades
She curses me out, tells me that I ain’t shit all while pushing my head in deeper
Tasting her as she requests that I don’t stop as she enjoys this sexual raid
Turns her over so that I can continue my assault from behind
West coast ’93 classic LP same as her favorite position this scene must be replayed
Clinches the sofa as her world’s being pounded repeatedly
Total disregard of the promises made and the vow’s to uphold has been swayed

Last night during Dr. Dre and Snoop’s Coachella performance, an appearance was made by 2Pac. Well, no he wasn’t raised from the ashes but he appeared in the hologram form. (Remember Afeni Shakur had him cremated.) And while it was a great gesture from Dre and Snoop to have him included during the set (considering the animosity that Pac had against Dre on the Makaveli album), fans started to run away with it.

Some hardcore fans of ‘Pac started questioning (once again!) if he was truly dead. Others started asking if we would see Biggie, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston and other deceased celebrities as holograms.

Then this happened:

Its been 10+ yrs and im still giving women chills down they spine

— Hologram Tupac (@HoIogramTUPAC) April 16, 2012

Plus this:

Breaking news: tupac’s hologram has just #signedtoyoungmoney

— Julia Beverly (@JuliaBeverly) April 16, 2012

It seems as if some fans couldn’t appreciate the performance and just allowed themselves to be just that — fans.

My emotions toy with my heart with infects my decisions
The mind tries to fight but in the end, is ultimately refused
Trying to talk to you is war itself; neither side will call a truce
End results finish in anger and a state of being confused
Like a dog chasing his tail in circles, we end up nowhere
And that topic, just ends up dead from constant stages of the abused
That wall that is built just becomes stronger with the passing disappointments
And you turn to other forms of dealing with your inner soul being bruised

You wander trying to figure out where did things went wrong
Petty arguments and miscommunications lead to the severed connections
We lost sight of the road that we were supposed to travel
GPS wouldn’t even be able to track our locations
I would hope that we could find a solution but fears of heights are no daydream
And what remains are memories of prior collective affections
Trust me I’m still in search of answers to these inquiries
While trying to balance between my stances on my perfect imperfections

The photos, the gifts, saved text messages and I’m speculating how did we get here?
Maybe we’re both selfish and unwilling to compromise for the sake of us
Tried to reach out but we ended up back at starting point with the declaration of war
And I’m running out of Tylenol dealing with the effects of all that fuss
Said our many goodbyes and now you’re like a stranger in my eyes
Won’t defame your name and the lessons learned will always be a plus
If we ever cross paths again, I’ll be sure that my ways will adjust
For now, I’ll sweep up my remains as my soul as crumbled into dust.

Queens, NY rapper 360 (Not to be confused with an Australian rapper with the same name) has dropped a new project this week called Everywhere And Back . I first heard of 360 when I read that J. Cole was creating a beat with him. Then over the past few months, he was releasing tracks and doing remixes (Peep “That’s My Bitch”).

The album itself is just a great look. On the Mela Machinko featured title track, 360 gives insight to where he’s been:

I’ve been everywhere and back, ain’t no telling where I’m heading
Shit I’ve been through hell, so I’m guessing this is Heaven
The rap game is my church, I just happened to be the reverend
The Bible is my notepad, the sermon is my sessions
But I say inside the booth is personal, is my confessions

And that’s only the beginning for the Queens MC as he takes us on his personal flight, journey of sorts through these 10 tracks. “Lovin You (Tonight)” has 360 talking to ladies as he ‘don’t a fuckin’ relationship but fuck it relationship’. “Drink and Celebrate” is about celebrating the joys of success after traveling that long road of life. “Power Pussy” is another track that had me pressing rewind. 360 spits his bars about that part of the woman’s body that if ‘you hit it for a minute, she’ll have you sleeping for an hour’. 360 displays his high dislike for fake niggas on “Woulda Kid” where he tells cats ‘to save those lies for them fuckin’ broads. They can be your drunken stories when you go to bars.’

The production on this project is handled by Kuddie Fresh and Dark Nyte, who contributes some great beats that meshes well with the flow of the lyrics. J. Cole was behind the boards on “What Goes Up” which I would say is the best track. In closing, I would suggest that you (the listener) give this project a chance. It’s different look from what is considered ‘hot’ on these airwaves today.
