Another One Lost.
An incredible artist that displayed very honest emotions in her of her songs. I finally listened to her debut album, Frank and was amazed at the great album that it was. When I saw tweets of her passing on Twitter, I just figured it was another hoax that people was spreading around. But then reliable news sources started to send out tweets that she was found dead in her London apartment.
I didn’t know anything about Amy Winehouse until 2006 when I saw a young lady purchasing the album in Best Buy. So I inquired and the young lady suggested that I take a listen because she was a great artist. Back To Black became one of my favorite albums to listen to and at the time I was being told about Frank but I just kept putting it off.
Those that watched The Grammys in 2008 saw how shocked she was that she won those five awards. And years from now, there will be arguments about which album was better Frank or Back To Black.
And I know that the smart asses of the world will say, ‘Well she didn’t know that you existed.’ or ‘I don’t know why people are so up in arms about her, she was on drugs.’ Well her music gave the fans a connection to her and her music will forever live through those worldwide fans. But the most important thing to remember is that drugs are harmful. You know that. I know that. But people are going to do what it is that they want to do anyway and death is a consequence of those actions. But long as we keep the memory of that person alive, they’ll never be forgotten.
