Stumbling And Rumblings..

Whatever I feel like speaking on…

Boxing Needs A Lifeline.

I wasn’t really going to watch last night’s bout between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto. The whole dog and pony show with Mayweather as the face of the sport is just getting really boring to me. I would rather see a rejuvenation of the Heavyweight division. Seems as if those days are just a distant memory.

The main event last night was decent to say the least. If Cotto would have kept Mayweather in the corner and followed up on punches, it would have been a different decision. After the fight, Mayweather and Larry Merchant kissed and made up after the incident occurring after the Mayweather/Ortiz fight. Since he’s headed to prison for 90 days stemming from an assault charge on his child’s mother, Mayweather was acting very humble saying ‘give what the fans want’ in regards to a bout with Manny Pacquiao. That light is fading quickly.

And Mosley taking a fight for 600k? I’m sure that you can become an analyst or something. From what the folks were saying on Twitter, Canelo Alvarez was digging in that grill.

Again, the Heavyweight division needs fresh faces to make it relevant again and for fans to even start caring as well.

But that’s just how I see things. You ‘experts’ can have at it.
